Hurriyat (M) Wednesday said the government had once again sabotaged the march called by the unified resistance leadership toward the United Nations (UN) office against the state killings and state terrorism and to attract the attention of the international community especially the UN towards the plight of the people.The conglomerate said the government continued with its standard response of imposing strict curfew, restrictions and curbs in entire Kashmir valley while Hurriyat (M) Chairman, Mirwaiz Muhammad Umar Farooq continued to remain under house arrest for the 40th consecutive day and an no one was allowed to go in or come out of his residence.However, the Mirwaiz broke out of his house arrest and holding a banner in his hands marched toward the UN office, when he was arrested by a large contingent of Indian forces and police and detained at Police Station Nigeen.

Meanwhile, when senior Hurriyat leader Moulana Masroor Abbas Ansari also moved out to of his residence to march toward the UN office, he was arrested by the Police at Khankah-e-Soqhta and detained at the local police station. Speaking to media persons before his arrest, Hurriyat (M) Chairman said the UN march called by the unified resistance leadership toward the UN office was meant to attract the attention of the world body toward s the sufferings and pain of people of Kashmir as Government of India and its local collaborators in Kashmir Are carrying out a genocide of Kashmiri people for demanding their basic right with spraying of pellets, tear smoke shells and pumping bullets in their bodies.The Mirwaiz said that the United Nations was duty bound to take up the Kashmir case, which was pending resolution for the past seven decades and play its role in stopping the murder of unarmed Kashmiris and innocent children by pressurizing New Delhi in stopping unabated human rights violations in the state.

Terming the ongoing situation in Kashmir as serious and explosive, he said if the United Nations does not take notice and play its role in the resolution of Kashmir dispute it will have serious repercussions in the subcontinent.Meanwhile, when people across the length and width of Kashmir tried to march peacefully toward the UN office in Srinagar, they were stopped by the government forces by use of excessive force and violence where in people reacted with pro-freedom and pro-Islam slogans.A spokesman of APHC said besides north and south Kashmir, government forces were entering into the residences of the people in Shehar-e-Khas area of Srinagar damaging cars and other vehicles to creating terror and fear in the area. The spokesman also condemned the police raid on Hurriyat office in Rajbagh where the staff was harassed and communications lines were disconnected. (KNS)
