Rowdy elements disrupting peace of Punjab would be dealt with iron hand: Sukhbir Singh Badal

Balachaur provided with Rs. 92 crore developmental grant in a single day

The Punjab Deputy Chief Minister, S. Sukhbir Singh Badal today sounded a warning note to the trouble mongers and declared that no disruptive element posing a threat to hard earned peace would be spared and such rowdy gangster elements would be severely dealt with and put behind bars.Interacting with media-persons during the Sangat Darshan of Balachaur constituency, the Deputy Chief Minister said he has instructed the Punjab Police to quickly nab the remaining gangsters and put them behind bars. Reply to a query regarding some radical groups getting active in view of next year’s assembly elections, Mr. Badal said that he has time and again reiterated that Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) and radical elements are hand in glove with each other and are trying to grab power by any means.The Deputy Chief Minister appealed to the people of Punjab to be wary of the blatant lies churned out by the likes of AAP. He said that only SAD-BJP alliance has the interests of Punjab at its heart and the state has witnessed development on all parameters of progress only with S. Parkash Singh Badal as Chief Minister. He further that all the welfare centric schemes like---atta-dal, shagan scheme, free power to farmers, free power worth 200 unit to the SC households, free health insurance scheme were initiated by the SAD-BJP government. 

Disclosing more, he said keeping in view the concept of women empowerement, very soon under Mai Bhago scheme all the women of rural areas would be provided with utensils & sewing machines.Earlier, the Deputy Chief Minister said the SAD-BJP combine has put the state on top of the developmental chart during the previous 9 years and made it the power surplus state. Not only this, the road infrastructure has also witnessed a change for the better with all the roads being 4 and 6 laned.On the occasion, the Deputy Chief Minister disbursed development oriented grants worth Rs. 92 crore which included Rs. 25.10 crore for 73 village panchayats, Rs. 40 crore for sewerage and 100 percent clean drinking water project at Balachaur. Apart from this, Rs. 22.50 crore worth grants were also distributed under rural development mission. Also listening to the problems of people on the spot, he instructed the officials present to address these at the earliest.Among others present on the occasion included Chief Parliamentary Secretary and MLA Balachaur Chaudhary Nand Lal, Ex-MLA Mohan Lal Banga, President Youth Akali Dal (YAD) Doaba Zone Sarabjot Singh Sabi, Special Principal Secretary to the Deputy Chief Minister Rahul Tewari and Ajay Mahajan, DIG S.K. Kalia, Deputy Commissioner Vipul Ujjwal, SSP Naveen Singla and other senior SAD-BJP leaders.
