The Government has taken various initiatives for improving the functioning of the Health department and provide improved medicare facilities to the people of the state.This was stated by Minister for Health and Medical education Mr. Bali Bhagat while reviewing performance of health sector in districts Doda and Kishtwar. Director Health services Jammu Dr. Baljit Pathania, MD J&K Medical Supplies Corporation Dr. Yashpal Sharma, Director NHM, Dr. Mohan Singh, CMO’s of Doda, Kishtwar besides others attended the meeting.While reviewing the performance of health sector in both the districts the Minister directed the functionaries of the department to work with missionary zeal and dedication so as to provide improved health care services to the people especially those living in rural and far flung areas of the state.
The Minister directed for immediate detachment of the staff of health department who are attached in different capacities in various health institutions. He also said that the doctors and other officials of health department will preferably be placed in their home towns or nearest places to avoid inconvenience of working in the field.The Minister also exhorted upon the Block Medical Officers to ensure regular visits to health institutions within their respective areas of jurisdiction so that better healthcare is provided to the people round the clock . He also called for organizing awareness camps in rural and far flung areas for generating mass awareness regarding various government sponsored schemes.Mr. Bhagat directed the concerned officers to ensure adequate availability of medicines in every healthcare institution in both the districts and asked the CMO’s to ensure that the list of concerned staff along with their phone number is displayed at every Health centre.
