Terming that pro-people exercise like Sangat Darshan was not every Chief Minister 's 'cup of tea', the Punjab Chief Minister Parkash Singh Badal today said that once bitten, twice shy Delhi Chief Minister Mr. Arvind Kejriwal and state Congress Chief Captain Amarinder Singh were complete misfit for this exercise.Addressing the public gatherings in village Mohale, Vehra, Bhiddi Aulakh Khud and others during Sangat Darshan in Rajasansi assembly segment here today, the Chief Minister said that when voted to power neither Kejriwal nor Amarinder bother about public welfare. He said that there was no Chief Minister in the entire country who visits every village of the state in scorching heat or spine chilling cold. However, Mr. Badal said that during SAD-BJP alliance government he undertakes this massive exercise to ensure well being of every strata of society. The Chief Minister said that it was on record that on lines of Sangat Darshan Mr. Kejriwal had tried his luck for holding Janta Darbar in Delhi. However, Mr. Badal said that this move proved to be a total disaster as the Delhi Chief Minister was not able to undertake this exercise for a single day. "Ultimately Kejriwal ran away from his words and never conducted this exercise", he added.

Likewise, the Chief Minister said that state Congress Chief Captain Amarinder Singh had never bothered to meet the people during his regime. However, he said that now in false hope of becoming Chief Minister, Captain has announced to hold 'Darbars' in every constituency. Mr. Badal said in these imperial darbars Captain just indulges in self glorification and bashing of political rivals without even thinking of public welfare. He said that this was a futile exercise as neither the former Chief Minister has will not interest to undertake public welfare. “Captain is a king who wants to attain power for enjoying rather than serving the people, added Mr. Badal.Citing another example of indifferent attitude of Captain towards people, the Chief Minister asked people whether they have seen Captain Amarinder Singh, who was their local MP, after the general elections. He said that it was a habit of Captain that he goes to hibernation after getting power, which he uses just for his enjoyment rather than public welfare. Mr. Badal said that voters of Amritsar Lok Sabha constituency were repenting their decision to elect Captain as MP as he never returned back to his constituency.Describing the residents of border districts as true patriots, the Chief Minister said that these brave sons of soil had suffered a lot due to partition. He said that had division of country not taken place then this region would have been the most prosperous part of the country. However, Mr. Badal said that due to partition the progress of these areas have lagged behind due to which state government was giving special focus on development of this region.

Urging the Government of India (GoI) to help the brave residents of border areas of Punjab by giving a special package for them, the Chief Minister said that it would be the best thing in recognition to the immense contribution of residents of these areas. Mr. Badal said that he had been raising this issue continuously with the centre. He hoped that NDA Government at centre would pay due consideration towards this long pending demands of Punjabis.Later on Interacting with the media persons at village Bhindi Aulakh Khurd, the Chief Minister slammed the AAP leadership for issuing statement to review of power subsidy being given to farmers, once voted to power. He said that Rs 5000 crore annual power subsidy to the farmers by state government was a humble tribute by it towards the immense contribution of food growers of country, who had played  a key role in making the country self reliant in food production. Mr. Badal said that withdrawal of this subsidy would mean an additional burden on already indebted farmers of the state. The Chief Minister said that the statement of AAP leadership has exposed its anti-farmer and anti-people stance. Mr. Badal said that AAP leadership was habitual of deceiving the people after showing them green pastures. He said that AAP has not fulfilled a single promise made to people of Delhi and now they were trying to befool Punjabis by creating a mirage. The Chief Minister was accompanied by Chairman District Planning Committee Jathedar Veer Singh Lopoke, Special Principal Secretary to Chief Minister Dr S Karunaraju, Deputy Inspector General of Police Kunwar Vijay Pratap, Deputy Commissioner Mr. Varun Roojam and Senior Superintendent of Police Mr. Jasdeep Singh.
