Minister for Irrigation and Flood Control and PHE, Mr. Sham Choudhary, today said the government has sanctioned Rs 14.94 crore for Flood Protection Works of River Siru.Replying to a Calling Attention Notice by Mr Asgar Ali Karbalaie, the Minister said the project sanctioned under FMP will cover Randum, Parkachik, Tai-Suruthang, Kargee, Thulus Pursa, Prantee, Chatikhar Khows on different spots. “In the first instance confined, flood protection works were taken up in areas Printee Panikhar, kargee, namsuru, Thulus Pursa and Chatkhar Khows at vulnerable spots. However, flood protection works in Randum, Parkachik area have been taken in hand in the second instance. Tenders are floated in Parkachik area like Boksok/Shakthang, Farool Parkachik, Rantakkhor/Farooq Parkachik, Chukari Shakthang Parkachik, Bamool/Shakthang Parkachik, etc,” he said.
The Minister said the tendering for Braqdoq Parkachik is under process to take up the work in the working season while at some spots of Parkachik, works are in progress.The Minister said that of the sanctioned project cost, Rs 292.81 lakhs have been released up to ending March 2016 against which Rs 292.60 lakhs have been incurred up to ending March 2016. He said Rs 381.92 lakhs are being expended during the current financial year on the project. He said the project is at initial stage of execution and no funds have been diverted to any other spot/site.
