Terming the threats issued to the civil and police officers of Punjab by PPCC chief Capt Amarinder Singh as 'highly undemocratic', BJP national leader Tarun Chugh today said that the former chief minister was still behaving like a royal forgetting the fact that the days of 'Rajwadashahi' in the country were over. The BJP national secretary said it was an illegal intervention in the official duty of the officers of the state."He still is under the illusion that he is a Maharaja and the officers working in the state were his Dewans but must understand that issuing threats to the officers was against the established norms of the democracy," Chugh said. Chugh said that the Congress leader has actually lost connect with the people and was living under the fear that he was set to lose elections for the third time.  Castigating Congress for its pseudo-secularism which has now been understood by the people across the country due to which it has been decimated not only nationally but in most of the states.

"He needs to be told that he was losing ground by the day and such flimsy tactics won't get him anywhere near a win," the BJP leader said. He said that Congress was fighting for its survival under the weak leadership of Sonia Gandhi and Rahul Gandhi which is being constantly challenged by different regional leaders and many leaders were deserting the party as they know that it was now a ship destined to sink.
