Expressing his dissatisfaction and ill will on the functioning of power development department in the state MLA Banihal and former power minister Vikar Rasool Wani today urged upon the government to accelerate the working of system in the state as present system is victim of carelessness and non functioning.Vikar Rasool Wani while speaking on the grants of power development department in the house here today Vikar Rasool wani said that present government failed to carry forward the work culture of previous government as previous government has commissioned Bagliar 900 MV, ensure allotment of Ratlay and start working of Ganderbal project and other power projects, but present government has failed to continue the work culture and bring any progressive change which reflects that PDP BJP coalition has no intention in this regard.Vikar Rasool informed the house that government is working direction less and aims less to provide electric facilities and to cope up the generation capacity as the government has no plan to streamline the department as not single penny has been spent form the funds sanctioned, Dindayal scheme and IPDS as the total amount of 1600 crores remain unspent from last two years and same is the case with RAPDRP scheme as out of 1700 cr only 1.98cr has been spent in three years in the state

Taking serious note on the budgetary announcement of government to 30 unit free electricity to the BPL beneficiaries he said that no BPL holder is having. Electric meter as they will not get any benefits from this SKM so he demands free electric supply for BPL beneficiaries of the state. Vikar Rasool also said that the system of power handling is only 2200mv which is over load in the state and as it was only800 MV before PMRP 18000cr sanctioned by UPA day by day demand power supply is increasing so to upgrade the power system is need of hour and Govt has to focus on that. He also demands that one grid should be made on transmission line 400kv from Jalander to Baramulla for Rajouri Poonch which is going connect valley Via Mughal road. He also stressed the government that central type workshops should be made functional at earliest so that people cannot suffer more in coming winter season due to frequent transformer damage.
