Minister for Rural Development, Panchayat Raj, Law and Justice Mr. Abdul Haq has said that MLA is an elected representative of the people and has responsibilities to redress the developmental and other issues of his constituency. The Minister while replying to an issue raised by MLA Abdul Majid Padder and supported by other MLAs, said that no person can restrict the role of an MLA in the developmental work going on in his constituency. He said that officers should take on board MLAs while formulating different developmental projects. The consent of an MLA is must as he is accountable to the people, he said.In reply to another issue about Janglat Mandi Anantnag raised by Sheikh Ishfaq Jabbar, the Minister said that the report is being ascertained which will be put up in the House.
