Highlighting the need of boosting agriculture sector and introducing high tech farming practices for improvement in agriculture and horticulture sector of the state, chief whip of congress legislative party in the house and MLA from Banihal Vikar Rasool Wani today said that agriculture is the back bone of states economySpeaking on the grants of agriculture and horticulture department here today Vikar Rasool Wani said that J&K has great resource in the agriculture and horticulture sector which needs prime attention for its exploring and progress.He urged upon the government to bring desirable change by introducing high tech agriculture techniques for increasing productivity in the state. Vikar further added that our agriculture land is scattering day by day and is under serious threat due to the alarming rate of construction's on agriculture land so it needs great attention of the govt to improve productivity.
Vikar Rasool demands agriculture sub division and Krishi Vighyaan Kender for Banihal and urged upon the government to cover bee keeping in apiculture sector under insurance schemes and ensure to provide 50 percent subsidy in bee keeping.He suggested the government that there great potential of potatoes, maize and walnut production as well different varieties of fruits and vegetables in Banihal and needs special focus to its progress and this government should fallow modern techniques for increasing production as well as to aware the local farmers for adoption of modern techniques of agriculture.Vikar Rasool also demand special focus for sericulture department and invited attention of the government to attract the local people towards sericulture by improvement its base in Banihal.
