Krishi Vigyan Kendra Doda, Sher-e-Kashmir University of Agricultural Sciences and Technology of Jammu conducted 9th Scientific Advisory Committee (SAC) meeting at Bhaderwah today.The meeting was chaired by Associate Director Extension and Incharge KVKs SKUAST Jammu, Dr R.K. Arora.Senior Scientist and Head KVK Jammu; Dr Vikas Tandon, , Senior Scientist and Incharge RHRSS Sarthangal, Dr Mahital Jamwal, Chief Horticulture Officer, Bipan Pandita, Chief Animal Husbandry Officer, Dr Tariq Parvez, District Agriculture Officer (Extension), M.A Beig, Poultry Development Officer, Dr Tanvir S. Zaya, District Sheep Husbandry Officer, Dr Javeed Iqbal, DDM NABARD Doda, Rajesh Badyal, district officers from other line departments, scientists from KVK Doda and Regional Horticulture Research Sub-Station Sarthangal besides progressive farmers of the district attended the meeting.Incharge Senior Scientist and Head KVK Doda Ravneet Kour presented action taken report and details of activities conducted by KVK Doda during the year 2015-16 as per the approved action plan. Besides, proposed action plan for the year 2016-17 was also presented and discussed.Dr R.K Arora suggested convergence of KVK, RHRSS and different line departments for benefit of the farming community. He laid emphasis on practical oriented training programmes for farmers, farm women and rural youth.Chief Horticulture Officer laid emphasis on programmes for the officers of the horticulture department on training and pruning in apple, promotion of grafted walnut.District Agriculture Officer, emphasized on extensive awareness and training programmes on protected cultivation of vegetables in the district.Chief Animal Husbandry Officer sought cooperation of KVK in conducting awareness programmes on management of Mastitis and vaccination in poultry farming.
