Minister for Health & Medical Education Bali Bhagat today said that about 1,77,472 beneficiaries have been provided free treatment under Janani Shishu Suraksha Karyakaram(JSSK) in the Jammu division during the last 2 years.Replying to a question by Rani Gargi Blowria, the Minister said that JSSK scheme is being implemented in all government hospitals including SMGS and other district hospitals of the Jammu division.Giving the breakup, Mr. Bhagat informed that in 2014-15, about 72039 pregnant women and 17844 infants were provided free treatment under the scheme. Similarly, in 2015-16, about 70762 pregnant women and 16827 infants were covered under the scheme.
The Minister informed that several steps such as ASHA Samelans, advertisements in electronic and print media and hoardings displaying message on JSSK scheme have been erected in the health institutions across the division to create awareness among the people particularly in the rural areas of the Jammu division.Replying to another question by Mr. Yash Pal Sharma, the Minister said that no post of dental surgeon is lying vacant in the department. However, he said, 118 posts of dental technicians are lying vacant which have already been referred to the Service Selection Board for recruitment purposes.Sunil Choudhary, Yasir Reshi, Khursheed Alam and Javid Mirchal raised supplementaries.
