Saritha Nair, a key accused in the "solar scam", on Wednesday claimed to have submitted digital evidence against Chief Minister Oommen Chandy, his son and some cabinet ministers. With assembly elections only five days away, Nair said she submitted the evidence to a government-appointed commission."I have submitted two pen drives and documents to the commission that will substantiate all what I have written in my letter that was aired by Asianet channel which names top Congress leaders," Nair told reporters. She said she will submit more evidence on Friday.Chandy and Congress Lok Sabha member K.C. Venugopal have already filed a defamation case against the news channel and Nair."I was used as a tool in other deals and I played an intermediary's role in a deal that involved the land of Cochin Port Trust at Kochi," she said.

The so-called solar scam case surfaced when Nair and her live-in partner Biju Radhakrishnan were arrested in 2013 on charges of cheating numerous investors who paid money for solar panels.Over 30 cases of cheating against Nair and Radhakrishnan are registered in various courts. Police estimate that they cheated investors to the tune of over Rs.6 crore. While Nair is out on bail, Radhakrishnan is in jail on charges of murdering his first wife.Nair came down heavily on Chandy."If the Congress-led UDF government returns to power, I know it's going to be tough for me," she said. "And now that I have given these digital evidences, they will say this is an election stunt."
