Punjab Vidhan Sabha speaker Dr Charanjit Singh Atwal today announced that the funds for government welfare schemes such as MGNREGA and Shagan Schemes would be issued in next around 15 days time. He said that once the funds are received, the beneficiaries and the labourers would be paid. Besides, the illegally cancelled blue cards would also be made again, for which necessary instructions have already been issued. He said this while distributing cheques worth lakhs to different village panchayats today.While addressing impressive gatherings in different villages, Dr Charanjit Singh Atwal said that more than 50% of the amount has already been provided to labourers and beneficiaries of MGNREGA and Shagan Schemes respectively and the balance amount would be paid to them in coming 15 days time. 

He said that some people have brought to his notice that their blue cards were cancelled illegally, for which a departmental inquiry is going on and if any card is found cancelled illegally, it would be made again. He said that necessary instructions in this regard have already been issued to the officers. Dr Atwal also appealed to the beneficiaries to fill the forms once again and submit in concerned departments within next two days time. He said that the beneficiaries of pension scheme can also submit their forms.Today, Dr Charanjit Singh Atwal distributed cheques worth lakhs for development works at villages Ajnaud, Rajgarh, Deep Nagar, Bhathal, Bilaspur, Katahri, Maksoodran, Gobindpura, Barmalipur and Rampur. He said that there is no shortage of funds with the Punjab government for development projects and that is why the rural areas are being developed at par with the urban areas of the state.
