Dukhtaran-e-Millat president Syedah Aasiyeh Andrabi has saluted the courage of Pakistani scientist and scholor Dr Aafiya Sidiqui as she completed 13 years in American custody. Syedah Aasiyeh Andrabi said that Dr. Aafiya’s continuous detention in an American jail is not only painful but a blot on the honor of whole Muslim nation. She has appealed Pakistani rulers and especially Army chief Gen. Raheel Sharief to press for the release of this great daughter of Muslim nation.In a statement to CNS, Dukhtaran-e-Millat spokesperson said that the party observed 31 March as a black day as Pakistani scientist and scholar Dr. Aafiya Sidiqui completed her 13 years in American detention. On this day Dukhtaran-e-Millat organized many programmes, at different places, in which tributes were paid to Dr. Aafiya and light thrown on different dimensions of her life.
Dukhtaran e Millat president Syedah Aasiyeh Andrabi while presiding over a meeting, in this connection, saluted the courage exhibited by Dr. Aafiya during the tough period she is going through. She said that Dr Aafiya is such a great daughter of the millat islamia who is not only a top scientist but an Islamic scholar and Hafizah (one who memorises Quran by heart) too. Syedah Aasiyeh Andrabi further said that Dr. Aafiyah was worried about the Muslim nation all over the world and wanted the educational system to be such that it would make Muslims grow in every field but as true Muslims. “She was very concerned about the condition of Muslims all over the world and wanted the educational system to be such that makes Muslims come closer to Allah while learning and studying any subject of their choice but the anti Islam forces couldn’t tolerate her and hatched a conspiracy to victimize her” Syedah Aasiyeh Andrabi said and added that Dr. Aafiya was implicated in false cases and thrown in the worst interrogation centers of the world. She said that the so called champions of humanity and those who claim to be civilized tortured Dr Aafiyah so inhumanly that she has become a living corpse. She further said that Dr Aafiya’s only “crime” is that she is a Muslim scientist and scholar who they thought would become a role model of Muslim women and that is why they destroyed and ruined her.
Syedah Aasiyeh Andrabi said that continuous detention of this great daughter of Islam that too far away from her home in America is and should be painful for all the Muslims wherever they are. She said that the honor of Muslim women is more sacred than anything which can be understood by the fact that Jihad becomes obligatory if the honor of Muslim women is in danger. Syedah Aasiyeh Andrabi said that history holds the record of many battles that were fought just to save the honor and dignity of Muslim women.Dukhtaran e Millat president appealed the state of Pakistan especially Army chief Gen Raheel Sharief and said that they should seriously try to get Dr Aafiyah, who has reduced to a living corpse, released. She said that as the army chief of Pakistan, which is like an Islamic fort, Gen Sharief is guardian and protector of Muslim women. She said that Gen Sharief should realize that he is duty bound to protect Muslim women and he should try to help out Aafiyah by pressing for her release or at least get her shifted to Pakistan.Syedah Aasiyeh Andrabi expressed her sympathies with Dr Aafiya’s mother, children and other kin and appealed the Muslim nation to pray for this great daughter of islam.
