At least three women were Saturday injured after police fired tear smoke shells to women protesters who were protesting against the recently implemented NFSA law in the state.According to protesters, as soon as the protesters blocked the Botshah Kadal to mark a protest against NFSA, police personnel fired tear smoke shells to disperse the protesters thereby resulted in minor injuries to three women.Soon after the incident, all the shops and other business establishments are closed.Earlier, protesters were chanting slogans like ‘we want justice’ and were demanding rollback of the recently implemented NFSA.The protesters said that 7 kgs per head is insufficient for the rice eaters. “It should be increased from 7 kgs to 15 kg soon,” they said.Meanwhile, a police official told KNS that the situation is normal in the area. “I don’t have any information regarding the injuries of any women protesters. But as far as my information is concerned, no women sustained injury,” he said. (KNS)
