Training program for Fish rears held in Gbl

The Department of Fisheries District Ganderbal today organized training cum awareness programme for private fish farmers of the district under centrally Sponsored scheme “ATMA” at Trout Culture Farm Mammer. The fish farmers from various parts of the District participated in the programme.During the camp, the farmers were imparted training regarding modern practices of trout,carp culture. Sub Divisional Magistrate Kangan Mr. G.M Mir was the chief guest at the occasion.While speaking on the occasion, Mr. Mir emphasized upon the fish growers to adopt fish culture practices on modern lines to get maximum dividends out of their available resources.

Assistant Director Fisheries Ganderbal Mr. Abdul Ahad Mir also gave brief presentation about fish culture and the importance of training programmes. The progressive fish growers also highlighted their achievements and shared their success stories during the programme.The fish farmers projected their problems before the department functionaries who in turn assured them that their genuine demands will be fulfilled in a time bound manner.The farmers were also provided technical demonstration at different pond sites to educate them about the latest techniques of fish farming. It was informed that so far 44 numbers of fish growers are rearing trout fish and 49 numbers of carp ponds have been established under the carp sector in the district.
