The flood victims of Sumbal area of north Kashmir’s Bandipora district Monday staged protest against the government for allegedly failing to rehabilitate them.The flood victims who suffered huge loss in 2014 deluge blocked Hajin-Srinagar road and were demanding relief.The residents of the areas including Nowgam, Shilvat, Shadipora and Ganistan were chanting slogans like ‘we want justice’.The protesters said that the administration has failed to rehabilitate them since the 2014 deluge hit Kashmir. “We are facing tremendous hardships to the delay in getting relief from the government,” they said.They said that they are waiting for the relief but unfortunately despite passing more than a year, they are yet to get relief from the administration. “We appeal higher ups including Governor N N Vohra to redress the genuine grievances of people here,” they said.
