Senior Congress leaders and legislators today asked Revenue Minister Bikram Singh Majithia to better question the Prime Minister Narendra Modi's stand on the SYL issue than Rahul Gandhi who has no role in the matter.Reacting to Majithia asking Rahul Gandhi to clarify his stand on the SYL issue, senior Congress leaders including OP Soni, Sukh Sarkaria, Dr Raj Kumar Verka, Harpartap Ajnala, Laly Majithia, Rajiv Bhagat and Gurjeet Aujla asked him (Majithia) to have the same guts and ask the same question to Mr Modi whose government has made a statement in the Supreme Court supporting Haryana against Punjab that led to current unrest in the state."But we understand your compulsions, the frustration and the helplessness as your own party Akali Dal is partner in the government there and your sister Ms Harsimrat Kaur Badal is a cabinet minister in Modi's cabinet", they reminded Majithia, adding, "naturally he has to vent his frustration out somewhere and he is trying to vent it at a wrong person knowing well he can't question or criticise Mr Modi lest his sister loses her job and the ministry and maybe even they lose their government in Punjab. The Congress leaders asked  the Akali minister to stop playing double games on the matter by being partners with the BJP which is opposed to Punjab's stand on SYL and crying wolf at the same time."Although we know you too well that you will never have the courage to do so but let you prove us wrong and advise your sister to resign from the Modi cabinet as a mark of protest and solidarity with Punjab's cause on SYL", they dared Majithia, while reminding him, "charity begins at home and more so in politics".
