Aam Aadmi Party has taken a serious note of Shiromani Akali Dal leaders trying to malign Delhi Government on the matter of Delhi Punjabi Academy. In a press statement, AAP leader Gurpreet Singh Ghuggi dared Shiromani Akali Dal Leaders to present the figures of budget allocated to Punjabi Academy on the basis of facts. He said that the Akali Leaders lied before the media that the budget of Delhi Punjabi Academy was decreased by AAP Government.Ghuggi said that in the year 2014-15, Rs. 17.70 Crores was allocated to Delhi Punjabi Academy and was increased to Rs. 20.75 Crores in year 2015-16 by Aam Aadmi Party government. He said that Aam Aadmi Party lead Delhi government is absolutely serious about promoting and preserving Punjabi Language and culture in Delhi.

Ghuggi said that on the other hand the condition of Punjabi Language is going from bad to worse in Punjab state. Thousands of Punjabi teacher cadre posts in School and Colleges in Punjab are lying vacant from long time. Even after the repeated reminders of Hon’ble Punjab and Haryana Court the Punjab Government is doing nothing to fill the posts. He said that ironically, the leaders who are raising fingers on AAP government are already rejected by the voters of Delhi. The leaders of Akali Dal, BJP and Congress should abstain from misguiding people with their lies. He said that the opposition parties should respect the feelings of voters of Delhi who have given mandate to Aam Aadmi Party in Delhi.
