A deputation from Padder led by Mr. Sunil Sharma, MLA Kishtwar, called on Governor N.N. Vohra at the Raj Bhavan here today.The members of the deputation urged the Governor for: recommending to the Government of India for granting Scheduled Tribe status to Sub-Division Padder; creation of facilities for pilgrims of Machail Mata, including good approach roads and a solar power plant for the shrine area; early tendering for Karthai Power project; increase in allocation of rations; directions for commencement of air services to Warwan area of Kishtwar.The Governor also discussed the feasibility of raising one or more nurseries for promoting cultivation of pine nuts (chilgoza) in this region and desired that Vice-Chancellor SKUAST-J be addressed to urgently prepare a pilot project for this purpose.
