Governor reviews significant matters pending decision

Governor N.N. Vohra held a meeting with Chief Secretary B.R. Sharma and Home Secretary, R. K. Goyal today to rapidly review the various important matters which are awaiting consideration and decision at Cabinet level.Besides deciding a number of Forest clearance cases which were delaying important ongoing projects, the Governor also gave directions in several cases relating to personnel management and functioning of the Police Department.The Governor directed that Chief Secretary should take an urgent meeting to identify the various required decisions for controlling the growing number of fatal road accidents. In this context, he gave directions to the Home Secretary to immediately review the penal provisions in regard to accident cases in which the offenders were found guilty. These issues shall be further reviewed by Governor on 27th January when he visits the Secretariat.
