The Speaker, Jammu and Kashmir Legislative Assembly, Mr Kavinder Gupta distributed cheques worth Rs 6 lakh among 50 BPL families of block Satwari for construction of Individual House Hold Latrines (IHHL) under Swachh Bharat Abhiyan.Speaking on the occasion, the Speaker said several welfare schemes have been launched by the Central Government for uplift of the people especially for weaker sections of the society. He said Swachh Bharat Abhiyan has been launched by the Prime Minister, Mr Narendra Modi with the aim to make the country clean. He said need of the hour is to aware the general public about the programme so that maximum lot be benefited. Mr. Gupta asked the concerned officers to involve prominent citizens and Gram Sevaks in this regard. He also appealed the people to come forward and take benefit of the scheme.Block Development Officer, Satwari also spoke on the occasion and highlighted the achievements of the department.
