Additional Deputy Commissioner Anantnag, Sheikh Ghulam Hassan, today chaired a meeting of concerned officers to finalize the arrangements to be put in place for smooth and peaceful conduct of Republic Day-2016 celebrations.The meeting was attended by Principals of Degree colleges, ACR, CMO, CEO, Joint Director Planning, Deputy Director Fire & Emergency Services, ARTO, DYSS officer, SE Hydraulic / R&B /PDD, besides officers of police and security agencies.It was informed that the main function in the district will be held at Government Degree College Boys Anantnag, which will start with Shehnai vadan followed by unfurling of tricolor by the Chief Guest, who will also inspect the march past and take the salute at the parade. The Contingents from various wings of J&K Police, Women police, IRP, CRPF, Fire & Emergency, Homeguard, NCC, besides students from various educational institutions of the district will take part in the march past.The arrangements with regard to seating arrangements, barricading of venue, supply of drinking water and power, illumination, sanitation in and around the venue besides heating arrangements were also finalized.
Regarding cleanliness and sanitation in and around the venue, ADC directed the officers of Municipality Anantnag to deploy the required man power during the rehearsal and main function.The Chief Medical Officer was directed to deploy an ambulance with doctors, paramedics and life saving drugs at the venue.It was also informed that similar functions will be held at Sub Divisional level and Tehsil headquarters across the district.
