Jammu , 20 Dec 2013

Making it absolutely clear that the BJP is for the protection of the rights of the people of Kashmir as they are an integral part and parcel of the state society, BJP State General Secretary & former MLA Bali Bhagat today demanded a special employment package for the youth of Jammu province who have been facing  unemployment problems since years now due to the discriminatory policies being pursued by the Kashmir-centric successive governments in the state. He said the rate of unemployment  in Jammu province is more than 69 per cent as against less than 30 per  cent in Kashmir province and added that this glaring disparity between the youth of Kashmir and that of Jammu is a clear indication that there is something fundamentally wrong with the official employment policy.

Bhagat said that all the official records, including the replies of the ministers in response to the questions put by law makers from Jammu province, establish beyond any shadow of doubt that the authorities have not accorded equal treatment to the Jammu youth in every respect, including service sector and technical & professional institutions. He said the patience of the suffering  youth of Jammu province is ending very fast which is evident from the dharnas and protests they organize almost on a daily basis and asserted that any failure on the part of the authorities to read the writing on the wall would prove very counterproductive. He said the BJP stands for equal treatment to all the regions and all sections of the society inhabiting all the three regions of the state. He said this is the only way the state could be kept intact. He drew the attention of the authorities to such demands as trifurcation as put forth by parties like BSP and said if the authorities in the state are to maintain the unity and integrity of the state they have not only to announce a special employment package for the unemployed youth of Jammu province to compensate for the losses they have suffered thus for at the hands of the biased government but also to address the issues facing other sections of society including Refugees from West Pakistan, Refugees from POJK, Border Migrants, Internally displaced Kashmiri Hindus, Scheduled Castes, Scheduled Tribes and other back classes.Bhagat said it is already too late and any more delay on the part of the authorities to dispense justice to the neglected segments of society would only invite anger and resentment. He also urged the state government to fill up all the 80 thousand vacant jobs in various government and semi-government departments.
