MLA Khansahab, Hakeem Mohammad Yaseen, today laid the foundation of model village Watrehal Ghafarabad in Khansab Budgam to come up with a proposed cost of Rs. 1.13 crore. MLA contributed an amount of Rs 10 lakh from his constituency development fund.Addressing a huge gathering, on the occasion, MLA said that the implementation of centrally sponsored schemes have the ability to transform each village into a model village.He further said that all government schemes require support of people to be fully successful and people should use the assistance under these schemes judiciously while officers should use their best judgment in taking the benefits under these schemes to the needy.MLA said that his politics is action oriented and not based on building castles in the air as can be seen from the ground work in his constituency. Sharing his desire to see his constituency absolutely free from open defecation, he urged the people to make use of assistance available under Total sanitation campaign in which government pays Rs9,600 for population under BPL to construct toilet points at home.
“To be a true leader is a hard job and requires a persona which is free from hatred and retribution, the motto of his life”, reiterating that political motives should be kept aloof from the developmental works, he stressed that his actions as a politician have always been free from vengeance and retribution and the political wave of transparency and people friendless which has started from AAP in Delhi will reach nook and corner of the country and shall wake people up to politics based on principles.Among other Assistant commissioner development, Executive engineer R&B, SDPO Khansahab, BDOs of various blocks of the area were present.MLA directed the executive engineer to blacktop the Watrehel road on priority.A model village has a complete system of drainage and sanitation, consists of many community assets like playground, park and community facility centre, informed BDO Khansahab and Rural development department shall ensure that these provisions are truly met.
