SAD to fight direct contest with Congress-Sukhbir Singh Badal

AAP has no political base in Punjab

Punjab Deputy Chief Minister Sukhbir Singh Badal today said categorically that Shiromani Akali Dal would fight with the Congress party in the general assembly elections in 2017 as Aam Adami Party (AAP) has no political base in the state.

While reviewing the preparations of Maghi Mela conference to be held on January 14 here Mr Badal announced that SAD workers would participate in huge numbers at the rally and its gathering would surpass opponent political parties. He reiterated that Punjab government had accomplished record number of development projects in the state thereby Punjab had achieved top status in the country in the inclusive progress.

In a scathing attack on Aam Adami Party Mr Badal said AAP has completely failed in Delhi as it had not kept its promises made to the electorates during elections, adding he said Delhites have been fully aware of its misdeeds. Keeping in view its poor performance in the capital, Pubnjabis would also reject this outfit in the general elections. He said that SAD would fight direct contest with the Congress in 2017 and trash it third time by winning the assembly contest with thumping majority. He announced that SAD would fight elections on the development plank in the state.

Earlier to after handing over prizes to the winners of National Livestock Championship Mr Badal said that this livestock competitions have proved a boon to the farmers and those involved in rearing of animals as it has been contributing to breed improvement as well as yielding higher milk production.Among others present on the occasion included Animal Husbandry Minister Gulzar Singh Ranike, CPS Des Raj Dhugga, Chairman Punjab Agro Corporation Dyal Singh Kolianwali, Youth Akali Dal leader Kanwarjit Singh Roji Barkandi, Tejinder Singh Midhukhara.
