The Armed Forces Flag Day was observed in Kathua with overwhelming participation from various sections of the society.District Development Commissioner Kathua , Ramesh Kumar has appealed all the fellow citizens to contribute generously to the Armed Forces Flag Day fund. “These voluntary donations will be a gesture of support for the families of our serviceman who have retired and those who have made the supreme sacrifices with their lives for the nation”, he added.Highlighting the importance of this day, Colonel Y. S. Andotra, Secretary, Soldier Board Kathua informed that Flag Day is a solemn reminder of the nation's obligation toward the Armed Forces for their glorious achievements and the saga of their service and sacrifice for the Motherland. Every year on 7th December, we renew our solidarity with our valiant soldiers, sailors and airmen, both serving and retired. On this day, we remember the courage and sacrifices of those who preserve the territorial integrity of our country. The Indian Armed Forces have brought glory to themselves and to our Motherland with their exemplary record of service, in times of war as well as peace, he said.
