To commemorate World Disability Day, a programme was organized by the Education Department at Town Hall Udhmapur in which Children With Special Need(CWSN) from eleven education zones of the district presented a colourful cultural  bonanza.Minister of State for Finance and Information Technology, Pawan Kumar Gupta was the chief guest on the occasion.While speaking on the occasion, Minister appreciated the cultural items presented by the specially abled children and complimented the efforts of teachers for encouraging these children and providing them the guidance. He said that role of parent and teachers are more important to motivate the Children with Special Needs so that they can explore their potential.

Minister said such programme provide a platform to the children to display their talent and would go a long way to help make people more aware of the rights, dignity and welfare of specially abled people.The Minister said that Government has taken several measures for the welfare of the disabled persons including financial assistance, free education, free medical treatment, free travel and stressed on generating awareness about these schemes so that the people can avail their benefits.Chief Education Officer, Mr. Bishan Singh, District Education Planning Officer, Mr. J. M Tharmat, District Coordinator Inclusive Education for Disabled, Zonal Education Officers, Teachers and students of different school were present on the occasion.Later, Minister also distributed certificates among the participants of 14th Anjali National Children’s Fest held at Bhubaneshwar.
