Asserting Koteranka  has immense tourism  potential, Minister for Transport,  Abdul Ghani Kohli  said Kousarnag, being blessed with abundant  natural  beauty is one of the best suited place that could  be developed  into  an eco friendly tourist destination. He said such untapped virgin tourist destinations have ability to attract tourists in large numbers, both from within and outside the country. The Minister stated this during a public grievance redressal camp convened at Koteranka.Addressing public meetings  in Budhal and Koteranka  areas of district  Rajouri,  the Minister said such virgin areas having huge tourism  potential and can be optimally utilized for transforming   economic  landscape  of the region, besides putting  it on larger canvas which would in turn enhance   income  generating opportunities  for locals. 

The Minister was accompanied by Member Parliament, Jugal Kishore. On the occasion, Jugal Kishore announced Rs 5 lakh out of his MPLAD fund for construction of a community hall at Khwas.Responding to various issues raised by locals including plying of SRTC buses on Jammu - Sugdi route, upgradation of schools with adequate teaching staff, water supply schemes, installation of new electric transformers along with power supply to uncovered hamlets and check on discrepancies in electricity bills, the Minister assured them that all genuine issues shall be considered on priority and addressed at the earliest.  He also directed RTO to deploy SRTC bus on Jammu - Sugdi route. Among others, SDM Kotranka, Sukhpal Singh, Executive Engineer, PWD, PDD, PHE, sectoral officers along with prominent citizens including Thakur Puran, Dev Raj, Javed Iqbal were present on the occasion.
