District Volleyball Association Udhampur Tuesday organized an Open Volleyball Tournament, which concluded here at Brahamrishi Bawra Shanti Vidya Peeth.Minister of State for Finance & IT, Mr. Pawan Kumar Gupta was Chief Guest on the occasion and distributed prizes among the winners.Speaking on the occasion, Mr. Gupta reiterated that the government is committed to improve basic sports infrastructure in all districts of the state.Complementing the organizers for organising the volley ball tournament, Mr. Gupta said more such sports events need to be organized to facilitate large scale participation of youth in sports activities and to improve their sports potential.As many as twelve teams of the district participated in the tournament. The final match was played between City Volleyball Club and Housing Colony Volley ball club which was won by Housing Colony Volley ball Club.Among others, Joint Director Planning, Mr. Rakesh Jamwal, Dy Controller Civil Defence Dy. SP Bodh Raj, Swami Chinmya Jyoti, President District Volleyball Association, Mr. Raj Guru, Principal BBSVP, Mr. S.K Gandotra & sports lovers were present on the occasion.
