The Shiromani Akali Dal took a strong notice of highly provocative and irresponsible statements of the opposition parties including Congress party and AAP at Bargari today and said that the main opposition party was hell bent on disturbing the peace and harmony in the state. In a hard hitting statement released from the party head office here today, the SAD Secretary and Spokesman and Punjab Education Minister Dr. Daljit Singh Cheema said that it was surprising that when the whole Punjab is praying for restoration of peace in the state after the disturbing incidents of sacrilege of Guru Granth Sahib ji and organizing Sri Akhand Path Sahib throughout the state, the opposition parties including Congress and Mann Dal are trying to flare up the emotions of the people only to achieve their petty political goals.He said that the tone and tenor of the resolutions passed at Bargari and statements made by the so called leaders particularly of the Congress party, are indicative of the fact that they are least concerned with the welfare of the state. He said that their only agenda is to derive political mileage out of each and every incident which occurs in the state.Dr. Cheema further said that the language used in the so called resolutions has proved that neither these people have basic etiquettes of maintaining decency nor they are cared for peace, harmony and progress of the state.
These elements which have been rejected by the people again and again only want anarchy in the state and lawlessness to prevail with agenda of derailing the development process initiated by the SAD-BJP government. He said that people of state were surprised to see that the Congress and other opposition parties have chosen to use a religious function to further their political interests.Punjab Education Minister said that as the government was trying its best to develop Punjab as a role model before the country with its tireless efforts to woo investors and create ample job opportunities, these leaders are trying their best to deny the youth the jobs which are need of the hour. He said that as these rejected leaders have no positive agenda to offer they are now trying to exploit the sentiments of the people for their own political promotion. Dr. Cheema express confidence that people of the state are wise enough to understand their nefarious designs to harm the interests of the state and its residents and will outrightly reject their so called calls which have been made in the resolutions. He reiterated that the SAD-BJP government was committed to work for the welfare of the people of the state and development will be its sole agenda for achieving the desired goals for progress of state.
