Punjabi film Jodi which stars Diljit Dosanjh and Nimrat Khaira in lead roles was released on May 5 outside India and May 6 in India. The film’s story has differently hit everyone and now they couldn't stop praising Jodi. The trailer of Jodi has already broken the record for the most viewed Punjabi trailer in 24 hours, with around 12 million views on YouTube.

The film which revolves around the musical journey of Diljit Dosanjh (Amar Sitara) and Nimrat Khaira (Kamaljot Kaur) amuse the audience a lot.  In the film, which Amberdeep Singh wrote and directed, the two musicians embark on a laborious quest to reshape the Punjabi folk music scene of the 1980s.

But what grabbed our attention is that after blasting the stage with his performance at Coachella, Dosanjhawala has now made his name at the box office in the United States. Yes, you read that right. Jodi which has been released under the banners of Rhythm Boyz Entertainment and Thind Motion Pictures has broken the records in the United States. In the US this weekend, the film grossed $734,000 on just 125 screens. 

And it marks a huge number for a Punjabi film stateside. It clearly shows that fans are showering their love from around the globe. And this regional film of Diljit and Nimrat is shining brightly on the billboard. The news has been shared by the billboard itself where we saw their songs poster.
