After Swiggy Bharat Matrimony has landed itself in controversy and has become the point of discussion due to its Holi advertisement. Many people are opposing the brand by criticising it for hurting Hindu religious sentiments and have started #BoycottBharatMatrimony trend on social networking sites. 

All this started after Bharat Matrimony shared a Holi advertisement which calls out the harassment and abuse that women face during the festival Holi. This ad has angered people as they think that this ad hurts Hindu religious sentiments. The shared ad was captioned as, “A lot of women have stopped playing Holi due to the trauma they experience through harassment. Watch this video that brings this to life in a hard hitting way. This Holi, let’s celebrate Women’s Day, and choose to keep them safe everyday. #BeChoosy #Holi #Holi2023 #WomensDay

This advertisement received much hatred and people started questioning the brand that why to post such ads on Hindu festivals and not during Muslim festivals. Advocate Ashutosh J. Dubey blamed the brand for using the beliefs of Indians for some financial gain. 

Under the name of #Holi, Bharat Matrimony gives gyan to Hindus on violence against women.

Many people came in support of Bharat Matrimony by calling it a perfect ad for spreading awareness and said that this triggered those who actually harass women. While many people opposed it. As a result, Bharat Matrimony made changes to their shared post by editing the caption.

Earlier Swiggy was called for Hinduphobia due to the Billboard advertisement it shared which asked people to not to throw eggs at each other on Holi. In response, Swiggy took down the Billboard.
