Balkaur Singh’s gunman is accused of accidentally shooting another gunman yesterday night at a wedding reception at the Royal Green Palace in Mansa. Navjot Singh has been recognised as the shooter who opened fire. A man was injured  after the shot was fired, and he was treated at Civil Hospital Mansa before being sent to a hospital in Bathinda.

Balkaur Singh, the father of the deceased Punjabi artist Sidhu Moosewala, had taken time off work to attend the wedding, and the police have identified him as the shooter as Navjot Singh. The police added that preliminary investigations have revealed that the shooter had no "ill intentions" and that the bullet was "accidentally" discharged from the gun.

The wedding reception took place at the Royal Green Palace, according to Deputy Superintendent of Police Sanjeev Goel. Gurwinder Singh was hurt when Navjot Singh unintentionally shot him. Gurwinder received initial care at Civil Hospital and was then sent for additional care to a hospital in Bathinda. We have Navjot Singh under investigation and have filed a complaint.

The man who suffered a bullet wound is also a gunman of Moosewala's father Balkaur Singh, the station house officer of Mansa police station later verified.

It is important to note that the Punjab police and district magistrate have a ban on carrying guns into marriage palaces, but the gunman nevertheless managed to steal the pistol. Public outrage about the occurrence has been expressed on social media.

Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Nanak Singh of Mansa has made a statement and stated that the matter has started an inquiry.

"Both police officers are assigned to a battalion of police reserves. If the shooting was intentional, as claimed in the FIR”, or an accident, it needs to be investigated, he continued.
