Amarinder Singh Brar, popularly known as Amarinder Singh Raja Warring, is an Indian politician and MLA who served as Transport Minister of the state of Punjab, India, under the government of Charanjit Singh Channi. He recently shared a post on Facebook that created a lot of buzz among social media users. The post is a direct dig at none other than the head of Waris Punjab De Amritpal Singh.

Yes, you read that right. Warring shared a picture of Amritpal in which he is holding a weapon (Gun). while sharing the picture he wrote, “ਅਸੀਂ ਨੌਜਵਾਨਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਅੰਮ੍ਰਿਤ ਛਕਾ ਕੇ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਸਿੱਖੀ ਦੇ ਨੇੜੇ ਲਿਆਉਣ ਦਾ ਸੁਆਗਤ ਅਤੇ ਪ੍ਰਸ਼ੰਸਾ ਕਰਦੇ ਹਾਂ।

(We welcome and appreciate bringing the youth closer to Sikhi by doing the Amrit Ceremony. In the name of God, you must not promote weapons that create, and ultimately lead to violence.

We have already paid a heavy price for it. Those terrible memories haunt us even today. Please don't push Punjab into the dark time again.)”

Meanwhile, earlier in October 2022, Amarinder Singh Raja Warring, the president of the Punjab Congress, wrote to the Director General of Police (DGP) to express worry about the escalating actions of extremist elements like Amritpal Singh. He claimed that while he and his party had no issue with someone evangelising for their religion, inciting others to violence was wrong.

He also claimed that Bhagwant Mann and the AAP government are not focusing on their state and are busy with the Gujarat elections. Within eight months, many people were killed, and gangster culture has been rising. Not only that, but he went on to say what it plans to do to prevent targeted killings and hate crimes, claiming that a climate of fear and uncertainty is being created in the border state.

Now, all we have to do is wait for Amritpal Singh Khalsa to speak on the matter and give his opinion on Raja Warring’s recent post.
