In this world, as fast as diseases are spreading throughout this world, how are they spreading? We all know the main factors behind these diseases, which are affecting the environment. 

The main causes of these diseases are moving automobiles and industrialization, the burning of gases and fossil fuels and also; and the depletion of the ozone layer. So we can see those major factors around the world that are affecting the lives of humans in a very negative way.

It is the doctors who are protecting us from such harmful diseases. They are doctors who give their days and nights to serve the country, to serve the citizens, whoever comes to them.

Also, the medication they provide to their patients saves their lives. The medication they provide to their patients is the most widely used in the field of health care. But the wrong care of patients worldwide came to light after watching the pessimistic effect of the wrong medication can cause a big effect on the lives of the patient as well as the family members of the patient.

World Patient Safety Day was first observed in the year 2019 by the WHO.

The Day brings together all of them, patients, families, caregivers, communities, health workers, healthcare leaders, and policy-makers to show their commitment to patient safety.

The resolution WHA 72.6 ‘Global action on patient safety’ recognizes patient safety as a global health priority and endorses the establishment of World Patient Safety Day to be observed annually on 17 September.

So the theme for this year's World Patient Safety Day is“Medication Safety”. It has been selected as the theme for World Patient Safety Day under the slogan “Medication Without Harm”, with a call to action to “Know, Check, and Ask”.

Why do we celebrate World Patient Safety Day?

World Patient Safety Day is celebrated to highlight the concept that safe medication should be provided to patients with no harm. Because the safety of the patients is the first priority and duty of the doctors. 

So the main objective of World Patient Day is to promote global awareness, and urgent action on medication-related harm due to medication harm and unsafe practices.

World Patient Safety Day is one of WHO's Global Public Health Days. It was established in 2019 by the 72nd World Health Assembly through the adoption of resolution WHA 72. 6 – “Global action on patient safety”.
