Mirwaiz Umar Farooq asks India-Pakistan to resolve K-Issue immediately

Terming the continuous escalation of hostilities between India and Pakistan on borders as worrisome and dangerous to the peace of the region, Hurriyat (M) Chairman, Mirwaiz Umar Farooq stressed upon both the nations to resolve the Kashmir  issue  sooner than later.In a statement to KNS, expressing concern over the loss of lives at working border in Sialkot and Suchetgarh sectors during the cross border shelling between the militaries of two countries, Hurriyat (M) Chairman stressed that people living across the borders have to suffer and bear the brunt of hostilities between the two countries.Asserting that the attitude of India in connection with the NSA level talks has added to increase in hostilities between the two countries at the borders, Mirwaiz said that the intransigent imprudent and unrealistic approach adopted by Indian leadership has allowed the situation to reach to this dangerous Level.Hurriyat (M) Chairman stated that the Indian reluctance to talk on Kashmir reflects its intransigence towards solving the Kashmir dispute. He stated that India should realize that issues can’t be addressed by military means and instead such approach could lead to more violence and instability.

Appealing the leadership of both nations to show maturity and wisdom and deescalate the situation at the borders n, Hurriyat (M) Chairman said that both the nations have no option but to solve their disputes through dialogue. He stated that both the nuclear nations have to take the Kashmiri leadership along and find a resolution which satisfies their aspirations and political aspirations.Meanwhile Senior Hurriyat (M) leaders Javaid Ahmad Mir and Mushtaq Ahmad Sofi led a protest at Old City against the use of deadly pellet and pepper gas in Kashmir particularly in Kaimoh, Kulgam in which dozens of youth received major injuries during the last week.Senior leaders including Ghulam Nabi Zaki, Jaffer Kashmiri and dozens of other activists also participated in the protestThe leaders stated that a youth Muhammad Asif, of Kaimoh received injury due to the deadly pellets which causing the lost vision in his one eye.

Condemning the use of poisonous pepper gas in old city, the leaders stated that in the whole of downtown areas, government forces were indiscriminately using Pepper gas and pellets. (KNS)
