Former MoS Home and MLC Sajjad Ahmad Kichloo Tuesday rued the functioning of State Government over their failure in providing a sucker to the people of Kishtwar District who are facing problems on account of shortage of ration in government depots besides suffered heavy losses due to natural calamities including due to several cloudbursts that took place at several places across Kishtwar District in last few months.Kichloo who conducted tour of various areas of Paddar and Nagsini make on spot assessment to the losses suffered to public property and damages to roads, crops, houses, and other infrastructure. The people informed Kichloo that the whole area of Paddar and Nagsini suffered from drought due to no rains on time and unprecedented weather condition; there is total drought in entire Kishtwar district besides farmers also suffered damages to their agricultural land as well as horticulture sector; also suffered badly particularly in Marwah, Warwan, Dachhan and other areas of the district.
After interacting with various people and deputations, Kichloo demanded announcement of six month free ration for the people of Kishtwar district as provided by previous government. He also demanded for constitution of teams of revenue officials for on spot assessment of damages suffered by the people of Kishtwar District to crops, orchards, homes and agricultural land. He further said that government should immediately need to draw a comprehensive plan for immediate restoration as well as up gradation of poor road infrastructure in the District suffered badly due to recent rains.
