Describing first six-months of PDP-BJP Coalition as a big disappointment, National Conference on Wednesday said the North-Pole South- Pole Government has created more confusion than providing a semblance of governance.“The half-yearly performance of the anti-people and anti-youth government can be summed in just two words as a dismal failure,” Provincial President said at a massive rally in the border belt of Kalakote, held to highlight developmental inertia, breakdown of law and order and mis-governance of the coalition government. The border town observed a complete shutdown in support of the protest rally as the local Beopar Mandal expressed complete solidarity with the cause of highlighting peoples’ woes as a result of malfunctioning of the government.

Taking jibe on the coalition government for hype over Rs 75,000 to Rs 1 lakh Cr Central Package for Jammu and Kashmir, Mr Rana said the Prime Minister has bestowed the favour of huge package to Bihar because of ensuing assembly elections while the State continues to wait. He traced the genesis of governmental failure to illusions with which the coalition partners were living and said this has adversely affected the governance.    Development has taken nose dive, utility services are craving for attention, flood sufferers are looking towards minimum possible help while the people in general suffering due to accumulated problems”, he said. The Provincial President accused the coalition government of misleading public opinion by reiterating the so-called liability of Rs 9,000 crores left by the previous government and said that National Conference takes pride in having spent every single penny on public welfare. “The money in the public exchequer is for the welfare of people and NC is proud of having done so”, he asserted while saying that PDP-BJP believes in politics of disruption and not development. He said the State is at the verge of collapse due to wrong policies of the vision-less government and warned that National Conference cannot be a mute spectator to growing public woes. The Provincial President also cautioned the people against the machinations of PDP-BJP Government in weakening Article 35 A, a constitutional guarantee based on the vision and far-sight of the Maharaja, who never wanted the bonafide interests of the people of Jammu, Kashmir and Ladakh to get trampled.

Speaking on the occasion, State Vice President and former Minister Syed Mushtaq Ahmed Bukhari charged the government of destabilising security environment created during the past six years, as a result of which they people were finding themselves unsecured.Mr Bukhari while referring to the performance inertial of the PDP-BJP Government, said the engine of development is gathering rust while service sectors have become a huge causality.  “This has pushed back the State to several decades”, he addedState Secretary and former MLA Th Rachpal Singh asked the PDP-BJP coalition to stop showing dreams to the people and come to brass tracks of governance as public patience cannot be tested anymore.“What looks a subtle resistance this time can burst into volcano if the government goes ahead with its dangerous policies of antagonizing youth, putting brakes on development, showing scant concern towards normal functioning of the utility services and vitiating the atmosphere”, Th Rachpal Singh said.

Dwelling upon the problems confronted by the people during the past nearly six months, Provincial Youth National Conference President Mr Ajaz Jan said the coalition government has miserably failed in keeping up its commitments.“There is no semblance of the government as demoralized, defunct and rudderless administration putting an unsuccessful front to meet the aspirations of the people”, he maintained and made a particular reference of the border shelling, saying the people were living under perpetual fear with government showing contemptuous indifference towards their plight.Prominent among those present in the rally included Vipan Paul Sharma,Yashu Vardhan Singh, Rohit Bali,Sandeep Singh,Gunjan Sharma,Tejinder Singh, Karan Singh, Ashok Sharma,Haji Feroz and others.
