Punjab Deputy Chief Minister Sukhbir Singh Badal today announced that Punjab government will examine the genuine cases of eligible wards of policemen who died in harness to provide them jobs at the earliest. Instructions in this regard have been issued to the home department and state police chief.After sharing his grief and heartfelt sympathy with the grief stricken family of SP Baljit SIngh who have laid his life during recent terrorist attack on Dinanagar Police Station Mr Badal while interacting with media said Punjab Police have played a commendable role to maintain law and order in the state. Police officers and officials have sacrificed their lives for the integrity of country in the past, he added.
Mr Badal assured that Punjab government would provide jobs to eligible wards of each cop who died while performing his duty and such pending cases to be examined on priority.Regarding voluntary closure of private sugar mills in the state Deputy CM said he has already fixed a meeting with the mill owners in the next week. Asked about the declaration of SBS Nagar constituency incharge he asserted that chairman Markfed Jarnail Singh Wahad would represent the Shiromani Akali Dal as Halqa incharge to redress the grievances of public.Mr Badal solacing the family of deceased SP Baljit SIngh as his family members assured that state government would take care of the family.
