Minister for Rural Development and Panchayati Raj, Ali Mohammad Sagar today said that disbursement of financial assistance to deserving persons has always remained among priorities of Government and several initiatives have been taken by the Government during last four years, so that the society particularly downtrodden class lives a life of honour and dignity at par with other sections of the society.
The Minister was addressing an awareness cum disbursement camp, organized by District Social Welfare Officer Srinagar at Shah-i-Hamdan Community Hall, Khanyar here today.Sagar impressed upon the officers of the department to serve humanity with dedication, sincerity and honesty, adding that the persons whom they extend assistance are most deserving and poor.
Later, the Minister distributed around Rs. 1.50 lakh among beneficiaries under ISSS, IGNOAPS, NFBS besides pre-matric scholarship to school children.Appreciating the officers of Social Welfare department for their hard work and dedication, Mr. Sagar hoped that the officers will keep it up in future also.Senior officers of Social Welfare department attended the camp, including District Social Welfare Officer, Srinagar, Mr. Riyaz Ahmad Beigh and Tehsil Social Welfare Officer, Syed Toaseen Rehman.
