Minister for Consumer Affairs and Public Distribution (CAPD) and Tribal Affairs today appealed the people of Rajouri and Poonch districts to maintain calm.Recalling the secular ethos of the State, the Minister said that communal harmony and amity is the hallmark of state since long. He said that development is possible only when communal harmony prevails in the society.Highlighting the historical importance of both the districts, the Minister said that the districts have been the abode of peace, saying despite facing the brunt of man-made and natural calamities the people of these districts have shown resilience, calm and patience all along.The Minister appealed the civil society members to work for strengthening the bonds of brotherhood and amity, saying that it would help in maintaining peace and communal harmony which is pre-requisite for the development of the state.The Minister appealed people to remain cautious about the nefarious designs of divisive forces who are hell bent to divide the society on regional and religious lines and spoiling the peaceful atmosphere of the state for their petty personal interests.
