Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal on Thursday inaugurated a waste water plant in the capital and drank a glass of water treated there.The chief minister said Delhi would need hundreds of 'toilet-to-tap' sewage treatment plants to address the city's water woes."Today, we inaugurated a small plant to recycle waste water to potable quality. I myself drank that water," Kejriwal tweeted after inaugurating the plant in Keshopur."Hundreds of such small plants all over Delhi will solve severe water problem in the next few years," he added.Potable water is a problem in the city of 16 million people. The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) government is in talks with the Singapore government to treat sewage water.The waste water plant, a joint venture between the Delhi government and NGO SANA, has the capacity to treat 25 million litres of water per year."Delhi does not have its own dedicated water body. That is why it is imperative to be able to store and utilise the monsoon flow in the Yamuna river," Kejriwal said at the launch.
