Minister for Hr. Education Mohammad Akbar Lone has directed the District Administration Bandipora to ensure adequate supply of rice, sugar, atta, Kerosene oil, LPG and other facilities to the people living in Shia dominated areas during the Holy days of Mouharram.The Minister was speaking during a joint meeting of officers and public representatives convened to take stock of the arrangements being made for ensuing Mouharram.Deputy Commissioner, Bandipora, Mr. M.M. Zargar, S.P. Bandipora, B.A. Khan besides district level and sectorial officers and the representatives of Shia Association and Panchayat Institutions participated in the meeting.
The Minister on the occasion issued directions for upkeep of cleanliness around Imambaras and their approach roads. He directed for ensuring uninterrupted power and drinking water supply, medicare facilities in the Shia belts of the district. The Minister directed to set up first aid camps and additional Ambulance Service on Muharram, adding that the district administration should press into service water tankers for convenience of the people. He also called for ensuring availability of fire-wood. He said that the people should not feel any sort of inconvenience during these days.
Security arrangements were also discussed during the meeting.
