To ensure the restructuring of flood affected infrastructure in Srinagar city, Divisional Commissioner, Kashmir, Dr. Asgar Samoon today convened a high level meeting of all district level officers and engineers of Srinagar district today and reviewed the pace of relief distribution in Srinagar city.On this occasion, the Deputy Commissioner, Srinagar gave detailed report to the Divisional Commissioner about the relief and rehabilitation of flood victims of district Srinagar.Reviewing the supply electricity in district Srinagar, the Div Com directed the authorities to restore the electricity to inhabitants of Panthachowk. It was also disclosed in the meeting that Rs. 500 crore are being utilized for strengthening of electricity infrastructure in Srinagar district for which the process has been taken in hand.
The Divisional Commissioner stressed upon the SMC and PDD for installation of street lights on main roads of Srinagar city including tourist resorts. He was informed that 30000 street lights had been installed so far.In view of ensuing Ramadhan, the Div Com directed the authorities to provide uninterrupted electric supply to Hazratbal, Makhdoom Sahib, Khankah Mohalla and other shrines of the city. He also instructed the authorities for installation of traffic lights on the sites and also identified parking place for vehicles. The Div Com also directed Department of Floriculture for developing public parks in the city.He also directed the SMC to install water pumps in the inundated lawns of various schools in the city.
