Minister of State for Health and Social Welfare, Asiya Naqash today visited the district Anantnag and inspected health institutions at Anantnag, Sangam and Kokernag besides reviewing their functioning.The Minister took stock of the medical facility being providing to the patients in these health institutions and interacted with the patients and their attendants. She also inspected general wards, Laboratories and other units.During her visit, she asked to health administration to equip the hospitals with latest diagnostic facilities and other equipment and ensure better medicare facilities to the patients. She asked the hospital authorities to provide free treatment and medicines to the patients. She directed the authorities to display the list of available medicines in the health institutions outside the hospital premises for information to the general public.
The Minister also asked them to maintain dress code during their duties, discipline and cleanliness in the hospital and health units. She directed the doctors and para medical staff to maintain good relationship with patients and attendants’.
During her visit, locals of the areas met the Minister and demanded for adequate medical facilities in these institutions along with posting of doctors and para-medical staff.On the occasion, the officers of Health, ISM, and Family Welfare briefed the Minister about the facilities being given to the patients.En-route, The Minister met many public delegations who appraised her about medical facilities and other infrastructure.The Minister said that the Govt. is committed towards strengthen health care institutions.Later the Minister convened a meeting at Kokernag with the district administration as well as health authorities.MLA, Kokernag, officers of ISM, Health Services, Family Welfare, NRHM and district administration accompanied the Minister.
