Deputy Commissioner, Poonch, Nisar Ahmed Wani interacted with local media persons of district here today.Among others the meeting was attended by Additional District Development Commissioner, Arvind Sharma, Assistant Commissioner Revenue, Shafiq Ahmed Choudhary, District Information Officer, Waqar Talib, Special Correspondent, AIR Poonch, Pardeep Khanna, besides correspondents of print and electronic media of various national and state media organizations.Highlighting the importance of media in democracy, the DC asked the media persons to perform their role diligently and contribute towards the socio-economic development of the district. Seeking their cooperation in taking the developmental process forward, Mr Wani asked them to held fast to the basic principles of journalism and avoid indulgence in yellow journalism. He asked them to cooperate with the district administration in dissemination of information regarding various achievements of the district administration adding further that constructive criticism from any quarter including the media will be taken positively.The media persons apprised the Deputy Commissioner about issues facing the media fraternity as well as the district.
