Minister for PHE, Irrigation & Flood Control, Sukhnandan Kumar today asked the PHE, Irrigation & Flood Control Departments to take measures for improvement in the distribution of irrigation and drinking water network in district Ganderbal.The Minister stated this while chairing a meeting to review the functioning of PHE and Irrigation & Flood Control Departments in district Ganderbal.Officials of different wings of PHE and Irrigation and Flood Control Departments apprised the Minister about various projects and informed him about the necessary steps to be taken to meet various demands.The Minister also reviewed the status of ongoing drinking water supply schemes and restoration work on flood damages in the district.The Minister stressed upon the senior functionaries to closely monitor the status of work on ongoing schemes and their implementation for the smooth functioning of the system. He asked them to make sure that the people do not face difficulties due to shortage of drinking water and failure of irrigation facilities.After giving a patient hearing to the grievances put forward by a deputation of people, the Minister assured them that all their grievances will be addressed on priority basis.MLA Ganderbal, Mr. Ishfaq Jabbar, DC Ganderbal, SSP Ganderbal, Chief Engineer PHE, Chief Engineer I & FC, engineers and officers of different wings of PHE and I & FC were present in the meeting.
