Three passengers were killed and three other injured when a Tempo Traveler rolled down from the road and fell into a deep gorge late yesterday evening in district Doda.According to reports the Tempo Traveler, bearing registration No JK02AX-5051 was on its way from Gandoh to Gwari. The ill fated vehicle rolled down and fell into 300 feet gorge.The Gandoh Police, with the assistance of locals, launched rescue operation and till receipt of the last reports three bodies were recovered. They have been identified as Saif Din, son of Gulam Hussain, resident of Chanda Bala, a police Constable, Jafar Hussain, son of Ghulam Mohammed Zargar, resident of Karah Mallanu and Zahir Abbas, son of Mohammed Sultan Malik, driver of the vehicle, who was a resident of Tilgora Batyas.
Meanwhile, Former Chief Minister and Union Health and Family Welfare Minister Ghulam Nabi Azad have expressed shock and grief over the tragic accident on Gondoh-Gwari road.Azad said that the tragic road accident has shocked him and they share the pain of the family members, who lost their near ones in the unfortunate accident.He asked the pisional administration to immediately rush rescue and relief teams to the site of accident. He issued instructions for providing best possible medical aid to the injured.Senior Congress Leader and MLA Inderwal G M Saroori has expressed serious concern over the frequency of road mishaps in the State claiming precious human lives and asked the traffic department to take adequate and stringent measures to check the recurrence of road accidents.Saroori also urged government to set up Traffic check Posts (TCPs) at Dunadi, Kahara, Bhatyas, Gandoh, Gowari, Bunjwah, Saroor, Sarthal, Thakrie and Chatroo in order to avert these tragedies in Doda and Kishtwar district.Saroori conveyed his heartfelt condolences to the families whose dear ones died in the accident. He prayed for eternal peace to the departed souls besides also sought immediate relief to the families of the deceased and free Medicare facilities to the injured passengers.
