The Gian Sagar Medical College and Hospital has introduced its new dialysis center in association with Deep Chand Dialysis Center (DCDC) - a renowned name that has more than 20 centers in northern India, whichw as inaugurated by Hon’ble Minister Anil Joshi.
Announcing the launch of center here today, director of Gian Sagar Medical College Dr Barjinder Singh said that the integrated dialysis center has the best quality dialysis in the region on affordable rates.“We have taken complete care of providing high class infection free environment followed by Zero Infection Protocol (ZIP). Separate machines for Hepatitis C and Hepatitis B patients have been set up with isolated infection free areas. They are based on the principle that all blood, body fluids, secretions, excretions (except sweat), non-intact skin, and mucous membranes may contain transmissible infectious agents. They are designed to protect both patients and hospital staff,” Dr Barjinder Singh said.
Anil joshi added that besides providing infection free environment, the center has been developed in a holistic manner to ensure complete comfort of patients and his or her attendants. Bedside entertainment in form of LEDs has been provided. The center has automated RO plant for with best water quality for high flux dialysis, adhering to International Association for the Advancement of Medical Instrumentation (AAMI) standards. Coupled with well trained and experienced staff with emergency ambulance round the clock the center is run under the well-known Nephrologist from P.G.I. Dr. P.K Prashar.
Laying special emphasis on the routine quality check protocols done, Dr Barjinder said that under this daily procedure the separate dialysis machines for Hepatitis patients are checked and hand hygiene is taken care of. Besides this appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) is used to provide a barrier to contact with blood, body fluids, non-intact skin or mucous membranes. Hospital staff is properly immunized and aseptic technique is used to reduce patient/ client exposure to microorganisms. The sharps, blood spills, linen and waste are managed to maintain a safe environment. The dialysis machine is disinfected after each dialysis.
